OUR STORY
On October 7th 2023, Israel suffered an unprecedented tragedy. In response, Israelis from
all over the world were mobilized to rejoin their IDF units, to defend our homeland, leaving
behind their families and careers.
Realizing he would not be called up for reserve duty, Sammy Zemel looked for ways to help.
Starting as an armed escort for supply deliveries to soldiers across Israel, after two months
of endless requests and driving, he recognized the need for a more efficient solution. With
this insight, Sammy founded Tzachi Israel, a nonprofit dedicated to funding and fulfilling
soldiers’ requests, making a significant impact on the ground.
The resilience of the Jewish people is evident in the numerous groups and organizations that
emerged with the aim of aiding our soldiers after October 7th. Tzachi Israel, after gathering
feedback from various units and individual soldiers, demonstrated its adaptability by shifting
its focus to supporting the holistic health of our soldiers, both on and off the battlefield.
